Sarasota Realtor Can’t See Humor In Recent Colbert Report!

Sarasota realtor can’t find humor in housing market collapse, forcing pink slips to rain from the sky while arrogant, greedy bankers get lampooned on The Colbert Report!

Only Stephen Colbert can get away with this.

In rare Colbert fashion, Stephen (video below) illustrates how politicians and bankers fully expected homeowners to take fall as THEY fleeced America.

Colbert Report Full Episodes Political Humor Economy

Maybe I’ve spent too much time sitting down at the kitchen table with homeowners near tears as their children pretend to watch TV — though completely aware family life is not okay. Scroll down and tell me what you think. Thanks!

Another question I’ve pondered (not often since looking back does no good) is where was the nation’s business press. Why was the public taken by surprise? What kind of reporting was missing and what kind is needed now? What are the lessons for financial journalism and what is its true purpose?

For years, I’ve jumped in and out of forums filled with screamers believing the housing collapse resulted singularly from people buying more house than they could afford. Therefore, in these people’s minds, they are to blame. I see at least 2 issues with this fallacious thinking: 1). Subprime mortgages were but the tip of the iceberg as we clearly NOW know. 2). Regular people did not see this cataclysmic collapse coming — I believe many politicians, bankers, Alan Greenspan’s FED  & opportunists like Michael Dell saw it coming and may have contributed to it.

Sarasota realtor struggles to find humor when families continue losing their jobs, their savings, their homes & finally their hope. Too bad I’m not exaggerating. Please do me a favor: scroll down & leave a comment, pointing out the humor behind politicians and bankers colluding to destroy America. By now, the “haters” have come to their senses to realize the housing market collapse extended FAR beyond subprime mortgages and all “those people who didn’t deserve home ownership.”
