Sarasota Homes For Sale Face Unique “Winter” Challenges But No 15′ Snow Drifts!

Sarasota homes for sale don’t face the “winter” challenges of homes for sale in Omaha, Nebraska!

Trying to sell houses in Sarasota (FL) is challenging amidst today’s foreclosure nightmare.

However, it could be worse!

Take Nebraska for instance. How would you like to try to sell your house with 10-15 foot snow drifts? My home state is facing one of the worst winters in history. Just for kicks, let me show you a few troubling photos I received the other day from family facing this winter “wonderland.”

Sarasota homes for sale NEVER will face 10-foot snow drifts!

Homes in Sarasota install "white" PVC fences, NOT white SNOW fences soaring to the tops of houses!

In Sarasota, we don't fire up our snow blowers in order to carve out a path to the grocery store!

Clearly, Sarasota homes for sale don’t have to hibernate for the winter as the entire state thaws out in the spring.

Wonderland? I don’t think so….

In Sarasota, we have our own challenges: unemployment and falling housing prices. At least we don’t face blizzards, icy roads, white-outs or 10-foot snow drifts.

We don’t get stuck inside our houses, hit with $400 /month heating bills, power outages from ice-packed power lines and 10 pounds of clothing just to shovel snow or grab the mail. Going to the grocery store or work is not an ice-skating experience.

We don’t need tire chains or mood lights to trick us into believing there’s a sun behind those clouds…during the entire 3-month winter “wonderland.”

Whether Sarasota or Omaha, all of us face challenges. It comes down to managing and enduring our challenges. At least I can stick a FOR SALE sign in the ground and not worry it will be 10 feet under snow the next day…with NO chance of a showing until spring!

How do you react to blizzards and driving in (or just enduring) snowy weather? Scroll down to leave me a comment. Tell me how you put up with this kind of weather. Sarasota is not paradise, but we don’t send  photos of 10-15 foot snowdrifts to our friends and family.

Sarasota homes for sale are priced 40% off 2006 prices. Sounds awesome, doesn’t it? Combine discounted home prices with much lower property taxes (compared with Omaha), no state income taxes & MUCH lower auto registration fees and we seem to have it pretty easy.
