Sarasota Attorney Hears Common Loan Mod Screw-Up!

Sarasota Attorney Anne Weintraub consoles worried homeowner facing common loan modification screw-up!

Concerned homeowner seeks attorney’s help understanding loan mod screw-up. Check out the short video below.

Sarasota attorney also shares good news about recent changes helpful to sellers and buyers:

  1. New law protects consumers from mortgage bankers who jack up fees during closing. No longer will bankers get away with extorting money from buyers at the closing table.
  2. News reports claim Bank of America speeds up short sale approval process. Oh really? I’d like to hear from someone with proof of this report. I’m not seeing it…yet.

Getting “Good” Legal Help Is
Not Easy Or Affordable….

For a couple years, I’ve worked closely with attorneys pitching “foreclosure defense.” I don’t personally know Anne Weintraub’s “foreclosure defense” skills and experience, beyond what I hear on her regular visits to ABC Sarasota.

She seems well informed and tenacious.

What I’ve discovered with most (that is, every) law firms with which I’ve worked (so far) is that they’re either affordable or not affordable.

If they are unaffordable, it doesn’t matter how great they are…few people can afford them.

On the other hand, they can be affordable and a waste of money. Unfortunately, this is what I’m seeing.

About 18 months ago, I researched one law firm in Orlando providing foreclosure defense services. For a flat rate of $1750.00 (very affordable!) they agreed to litigate (delay foreclosure) for up to 2 years.

In that time, their defense allowed a homeowner (borrower) to:

  1. Modify the loan (keep the home).
  2. Short sale the house (avoid foreclosure)

All in all, they bought struggling homeowners time to clear their heads and bounce back for the time being. I endorsed their services, referring many customers to them.

But then all good things changed. My clients called and couldn’t get answers, passed among 10-15 different people.

A new name and face every day it seemed.

My customers never could talk with an attorney.

For some reason, this law firm forgot these are real people facing the LOSS of their homes. They deserved to be updated by their attorney whom they had hired.

If you have a question I’m qualified to answer, call me now. I’ll pass on any questions requiring legal expertise. If you want to buy a home or sell a house in or around Sarasota, please call me now. I want to be your Sarasota Realtor.

Sarasota attorney Anne Weintrub clearly helps people during her regular ABC Sarasota call-in show. Fear of losing a home creates confusion and anger. Finding affordable, reliable legal help is priceless. Please scroll down & leave me a comment. Have you had an experience requiring legal help with your home or a house? How did that work out for you? Did your attorney help or hurt you?
